Oh thank you for this, it's in so many ways refreshing to just see, for a change, that someone is stating the obvious. There's too much FOMO content now that just brings fake hopes and paid schemes and confusion amongst people that simply came here to create, or learn to create, or just say what's on their mind.
Thanks for the archetype tool, I love my result :) The Creator

I wish one day I will be worthy of this category, till then there's work to be done, huh?
This arrived in my inbox today sandwiched between two other newsletters selling me their particular brand of how to go viral on Substack, which sat amongst others about doing allll the things. Thank you for creating such a calm space amongst the noise. So many great points stood out to me in this post. I love this: "The work isn’t to find a better formula. The work is to become a better artist. And the art is in navigation."
Most everything you wrote about can also apply to life coaches and sometimes psychotherapists. We don't always realize how much we don't need the, until we get the point of self mastery. Most of what we need to know, we already know. Those who market their services are largely speaking to the unsure, the frightened, the insecure, the lonely. I have had to take a little more responsibility for the quality of my experience in the world. The world isn't a better place because there's another guru, marketing genius, healing coach on the planet. The world becomes more joyful and beautiful when we’re able to step into our own power.
Still, there are times I'm tempted to sign up for a course. However, before committing I do a through evaluation if there isn't another way to obtain the same information as well as internalize the message. I’d rather be rich in my own understanding.
Well, i don't want to pretend that ‘taking responsibility’ just happens. There's many reason why we might not want to take responsibility for our lives, Right? There are institutional, social and systemic reasons that act as roadblocks. 🚧 It’s easy for me to say as a person of privilege. However, the more that we can take responsibility, the more empowered I think people feel. I know as a survivor, the source of my suffering felt like it was always outside. But, when I was afforded the opportunity to look more deeply inside, I could see some of the source of my own suffering in a Buddhist sense. There is real suffering that people experience because of political forces though. I don't want to pretend that this doesn't exist though. It’s not the easiest experience to reconcile.
Exactly as Dustin said, we’re buying relief from uncertainty.
When we step into something new, something we’ve never done before, there’s a pull toward the vision. We're full of it, so our brains start noticing what connects to it - incl. others. We see others living what we want to be living, and it amplifies the high of the possibility. Especially when they tell us, "I'll show you how".
Because with the "high", there's also the terror of the unknown. And that's the gap they're coming to fill.
(Co-dependent romantic relationships are the same thing in my view)
We want our win, but we’re afraid of everything that could go wrong, plus we don't have a map. Which would be fine, there is no map, as you also said, but it points to the deeper issue, which is that we don't know how to navigate our unknown.
That’s why my intention is to support people through THAT, so they're not dependent on someone else to provide what's essentially meant to be in them.
"The high of the possibility" captures is neatly. It feeds an illusion we desperately want to believe (the negative Innocent archetype). I'm just writing an article that goes deeper int that.
The analogy to co-dependent romantic relationships is perfect. It's the same mechanism.
I think in that way we follow a similar approach: being a guide and giving people the tools to walk their own path, not a flawed map to follow.
This is a fascinating perspective, and I find myself aligned with about 80% of what you’ve outlined in the article.
It’s true, most people lack a grounded understanding of what entrepreneurship actually is, both in the short and long term, and they often fall prey to suggestion or even deception, seduced by illusion rather than guided by insight.
But there’s one statement I often repeat on stage, and I think it fits perfectly here:
“I’m not saying that believing in luck is right or wrong (to my knowledge, nobody has ultimate proof that it even exists).
What I am saying is that, as a strategist, my domain of expertise lies in the other camp.
I reason under the assumption that luck doesn’t exist, that everything is simply a complex matrix of causes and consequences.”
The lie isn’t that there’s no map....We just never needed one in the first place.
Every creator’s terrain redraws itself as soon as you start walking.
I’ve learned that the second you start moving, the landscape changes.
No one can sell you a map for a journey that redraws itself in real time.
What we’re really buying in those “systems” is relief from uncertainty.
The irony is that uncertainty is the only terrain we’ll ever truly master.
That's a very thoughtful comment. Thank you so much for taking the time Dustin.
As you said uncertainty is inherent to our journey and developing trust (in yourself, in the process, in a higher power) is what we really need.

The moment you were born you became worth of it.
I'm happy to hear you liked it. I hope the Creator will guide you on your journey.

That's so nice to hear. Thanks for sharing this Dallas. I'm glad it resonated.

Great point. It indeed applies to almost all industries, life coaching, unfortunately one of them.
I love how you articulated our need to take responsibility – for our own lives and to make a positive impact.

A very reflected way to look at this, love it.
Thank you.
Love this!
Brilliant!
You expressed a scream I was keeping in me. Thanks
Thanks Jose, I love to hear that. It makes it worth all the effort.
LOVE the surfing analogy as I just moved to Newquay, Cornwall 🤣🤭
I hope you're prepared to catch a good wave.
I'm 100% with you on this, Philipp.

Giving people the tools to walk their own path... helping them become capable of walking a path where the soul is in charge.
